We’re working again this year with the Republic National Distribution Company,  who are distributors of alcohol beverage brands. They have asked us to assist in three different text-to-win mobile sweepstakes for their clients so far this year. Here’s an overview of each one.

We started off 2020 with The Botanist Ginuary Sweepstakes  which is sponsored by Remy Cointreau USA and is running January 1 till the end of February. Participants are invited to text the keyword Botanist to the short code 65047 where they will receive a text message back with a link to a form that they need to fill out and submit to receive an entry. They may also directly visit the online form located at https://go.sweeppea.com/BOTANIST to receive an entry. At the end of the sweepstakes period we will draw 15 Grand Prize Winners who will each receive a Home Bartending Kit valued at $100.

Next we launched The National Margarita Day Sweepstakes, also sponsored by Remy Cointreau USA ,which kicked off on January 15 and runs till March 15. Participants text the keyword Cointreau to the shortcode 65047 or enter directly online at https://go.sweeppea.com/Cointreau and follow the same instructions as in the Botanist Sweepstakes. At the end of this sweepstakes will will draw 20 Grand Prize Winners who each receive a Margarita kit that includes a Shaker, Jigger, Lime Squeezer, Tank Top, Tee-shirt, Temporary Tattoos, Coasters, Photo Backdrop, Photo Props, Inflatable Margarita and Inflatable Bottle all valued at $250.

The last sweepstakes running now is The Born Bayou Sweepstakes sponsored by The Stoli Group USA which started on February 20 and runs till the end of March. Here participants are invited to text the keyword BAYOU to the shortcode 65047 or enter directly online at https://go.sweeppea.com/Bayou and follow the same instructions as in the other two sweepstakes. At the end of this sweepstakes we will also draw 15 Grand Prize Winners who will each receive craw fish pot and a retailer gift card for a total prize value of $586 each.

All three brands produced in-store point-of-sale materials to promote their sweepstakes in retail locations. Setting up a text-to-win sweepstakes is a great way to encourage in-store displays. All alcohol beverage brands are required by law to confirm participants are 21 years of age or older at the time of sweepstakes entry. So by providing the additional form we can asked for their date-of-birth in order to comply with the law, along with other data such as name, email address and also mailing address which makes it easy to ship the prizes direct to the winners.

We hope to continue to assist this client with more of these text-to-win sweepstakes as the year moves on. If you are interested in running one please contact me.

We are administering another new text-to-win sweepstakes that is for the Breckenridge Distillery, located in Colorado, to help promote their location in the summer months. They are offering the chance for three grand prize winners to each receive a great trip package for two people to visit their Distillery in Breckenridge.

Participants can enter the Breckenridge Distillery Sweepstakes by texting BDWhiskey to the short code 60905 that we provide to them from our mobile provider. Each participant will then receive a response message back that will include a link to an entry form which they must fill out all the required fields to complete their entry. They can also enter by going directly to the entry form that is located at https://go.sweeppea.com/BDWhiskey and filling out the required fields along with their mobile phone number.

The sweepstakes runs till July 31 and once ended we will randomly choose the three winners from all who have entered to receive the trip prize package. The prize includes the following: round trip airline tickets for the Grand Prize Winner and their guest to the Denver International airport, 2-night hotel accommodations in Breckenridge, a Breckenridge Distillery Tour, a meet & greet with Bryan Nolt, the Founder and CEO, and dinner at Breckenridge Distillery Restaurant. Each prize is valued at $1,600.

The Breckenridge Distillery is best known for their whiskey products, but they produce gin and vodka as well. They note that all their products include the water from the Rocky Mountain snowmelt to produce pure, mineral infused perfection.

The restaurant’s menu is currently provided by Chef David Burke who is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and a student at Ecole Lenotre Pastry School in Plaisir, France. He received the ultimate honor, a United States patent, awarded to him for the unique process by which he uses pink Himalayan salt to dry-age his steaks for up to 100 days. He is also is a two time James Beard Best Chef in New York winner.

We have been working with the Republic National Distribution Company, distributors of these products. They have produced in-store point-of-sale materials to promote the sweepstakes in retail locations. The distillery is also promoting the sweepstakes to people taking a distillery tour and at the restaurant as well. Setting up a text-to-win sweepstakes is a great way to encourage in-store displays.

We worked with this same distributor with a Derby Sweepstakes that recently ended to help promote Four Hands Winery, the official sponsor of the 145th Kentucky Derby. This was also a text-to-win sweepstakes in which they awarded a Grand Prize Winner their choice of either a custom hat or bowtie from the House of MacGregor Millinery that is valued at $500. We hope to continue to assist with more of these types of giveaways with them.

Here’s a new text-to-win sweepstakes that just launched. It’s called the “Derby” Sweepstakes and it’s to help celebrate the upcoming Kentucky Derby taking place on May 4. Last year’s winner, Justify, went on to win the Preakness Stakes, then won the Belmont Stakes to also win the Triple Crown title. Justify is now enjoying retirement, so we’ll have a new winner this year.

Four Hands Winery is an official sponsor of the 145th Kentucky Derby and their wines are being promoted with this sweepstakes. Their winery is located in Washington state and they claim that 14 Hands wines are inspired by the unbridled spirit of the wild horses that once freely roamed eastern Washington. Measuring just fourteen hands tall — a “hand” equivalent to the width of one’s palm — these tenacious little horses would travel down from the hills every day to drink from the mighty Columbia River and graze along the riverbank, then retreat back to cool off at night.  So it’s a great brand fit for 14 Hands to be sponsors of the Kentucky Derby.

The Derby Sweepstakes is running now till the end of April. To enter participants can text “Derby” to 6507 where they will receive a text message back with a link to a mobile entry form that they need to fill out and submit to earn an entry. At the end of the sweepstakes period we will conduct a random drawing to determine a grand prize winner who will receive a custom hat or bowtie from the House of MacGregor Millinery that is valued at $500.

We have been working with the Republic National Distribution Company, distributors, of these wines. They have produced in-store point-of-sale materials to promote the sweepstakes that consists of a necker that goes on the bottle and display header.  Setting up a text-to-win sweepstakes is a great way to encourage in-store displays.

We worked with the same distributor earlier this year to help promote Botanist Gin with another text-to-win sweepstakes that ran the month of January to help kick off the new year. Here they gave 40 Grand Prize Winners each a healthy Hello Fresh Pre-Packaged Meal Plan valued at $60. They got in return some additional in-store signage as well that you see here.

We hope to continue doing more of these types of mobile friendly promotions as the year goes on!

For the past several years we’ve worked with Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC) who  is the second largest alcohol beverage distributor in the U.S. We’ve been assisting them with a several text-to-win sweepstakes which are very popular with alcohol beverage brands since they receive extra awareness at retail and bar locations. These types of sweepstakes encourage retailers to display the brand’s point of sale communications in their stores.

We started out working with RNDC for Pernod Ricard, the sponsor, for their Absolut Vodka and their Martell Cognac brands. Last year RNDC was working with Edrington Americas and we assisted them with the Macallen DoubleCask Sweepstakes which offered Texans a chance to win a trip to Scotland.

Now this year we recently helped RNDC launch another two text-to-win sweepstakes. The first is a sweepstakes for Edrington Americas for their Highland Park Whiskey brand. People who are 21 years of age or older from Florida, Georgia and Texas are invited to participate. They can text the word “VIKING” to the shortcode 65047 where they receive a text message back that contains a link to open up an online entry form. They can also enter at www.highlandparktailgate.com. Once they complete and submit the form they are entered for a chance to win. In this case Highland Park is tying into the football tailgating season and offering eight lucky weekly winners a chance to receive a tailgate package that includes food and drinks for 10 people valued at $300.

A new sponsor that we’re working though RNDC is Santa Margherita USA for their Santa Margherita wines. People who are 21 years of age or older from Texas are invited to participate. They can text the word “UNCORK” to the shortcode 65047 where they receive a text message back that contains a link to open up an online entry form. People can also enter directly online at http://app2.sweeppea.com/UNCORK for a chance to win. Three weekly winners each week for a total of 21 weekly winners each receive a $100 Albertson’s Gift Card and one Grand Prize winner at the end of the Sweepstakes will receive a $400 Albertson’s Gift Card.

Both of these sweepstakes began on September 1 and will run till the end of October. We’ve been working with a mobile platform in the U.S. for the past couple of years called Sweeppea. They provide the shortcode and we set up the campaign in their platform. We have the option of creating the online mobile form from their platform as well. The form is a great way to collect more data on the entrant such as their first and last name, email address and age, which in the case of alchol beverage brands we need to know that they are 21 or older. So try and enter one today and see how easy it is.

One of our clients through our sister company, Alliance Sweepstakes Services, has been utilizing text-to-win sweepstakes now for the past three years. Deschutes Brewery is a craft beer company headquartered in Oregon and their beer is available in 29 states throughout the U.S. and in D.C. They have been run these text-to-win sweepstakes during the past two years which they have had great success with. So they plan to run more of them this year. Here are a few of them that have launched so far.

They kicked off the year on February 1 with their Camping Chairs Sweepstakes. This will run for nine months until the end of October and award 10 winners each month who will each receive a Deschutes Brewery branded Camping Chair worth about $50. All they have to do is text the word “CampChair” to the shortcode 65047 which we provide through the mobile platform that we have partnered with call Sweeppea. Upon receipt of the text message, the entrant receives a response message confirming the proper keyword and providing a link to the mobile Sweepstakes entry form which they have to enter their name, mailing address, phone number, date of birth, and e-mail address. People can also go straight to the online form to enter as well. Each completed entry form generates an entry and people can enter once a day. So they have several months to possibly become a winner.

The next sweepstakes was launched on March 1 for their Stand Up Paddle Board Giveaway. This will run for just four months until the end of June when the final drawing will take place shortly after that. Five Grand Prize winners will each receive a custom Deschutes Brewery inflatable stand up paddleboard from Stand On Liquid which has a value of $700. Plus 30 second prize winners will each receive an Outdoor Research Dry Isolation Pack valued at $50. The total prize pool value of this sweepstakes is $5,000. People can enter similar to the Champing Chairs Sweepstakes but in this case, they must use the keyword “SUP” when they text in.

The third sweepstakes that the Brewery currently has going is the Grizzly Cooler Sweepstakes. This just launched on May 15 and runs till July 15, so only two months for this one. Entrants text the word “Grizzly” to enter for a chance to win a Deschutes Brewery branded Grizzly Cooler valued at $800 that can hold 160 cans of beer along with some ice. Or they could be one of the 20 second prize winners that could win a smaller, soft-sided Grizzly cooler that has a $50 value. People can also enter directly on the Deschutes Brewery website.

So as you can tell by these prize selections, Deschutes Brewery seems to really know their customers and has defined them as outdoor enthusiasts. With these sweepstakes Deschutes Brewery not only collects the entrant’s mobile phone number, but their name, email address and mailing address, which makes it easy to ship out the prizes directly to the winners. Since this sweepstakes is for an alcohol beverage brand we need to make sure that entrants are 21 years of age or older as well so that is why we ask for their date of birth.

One of the main objective of these text-to-win sweepstakes is for the brands to receive extra awareness at retail and bar locations. Many alcohol beverage brands are now utilizing text to win and other types of sweepstakes promotions in order to gain the extra display at point of sale that promote the sweepstakes. Deschutes Brewery has a couple more of these types of sweepstakes scheduled further in the year which I’ll keep you posted on.

Interest in running text-to-win sweepstakes is continuing to grow.  Not only is it very popular with alcohol beverage brands, it is gaining popularity with other consumer brands sold at major retailers.

We’ve been working with the Republic National Distributing Company who is the second largest alcohol beverage distributor in the U.S. We worked with them earlier this year that I wrote about here when they were assisting Pernod Ricard with their Absolut Vodka and Martell Cognac Brands, each with a text-to-win sweepstakes. We’re working with them again on another text to win sweepstakes as they are now assisting Edrington Americas with their Macallen Scotch Whiskey Brand. The Macallan Distillers Ltd. is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Edrington Group.

The Macallen DoubleCask Sweepstakes invites residents of Texas, 21 and older, to text DoubleCask to 65047 for a chance to win a trip for two to Edinburgh, Scotland. The prize includes round-trip airline tickets to Edinburgh, 5 day/4 night hotel accommodations in Edinburgh and a tour of the Famous Grouse Experience, Scotland’s oldest working distillery. The prize package is valued at $4,000. The sweepstakes runs till January 31, 2018. Pictured above is a copy of their shelf talker and to the left is their shelf blade, both point-of-sale pieces they have created to gain awareness of the sweepstakes at various retailers in Texas.

We need to make sure that entrants are 21 years of age or older since this sweepstakes is for an alcohol beverage brand. So we’ve set it up that each entrant receives a message back when they text in with a link to a very brief mobile form in which they have to enter their date of birth along with their name and email address. Once completed they receive another message confirming their entry which also has a link to the official rules. By collecting mobile phone numbers, all entrants are automatically subscribed to a text messaging list in which they can receive future text messages from the sponsor and opt-out at any time.

We also have a new client that we are working with on their first text-to-win sweepstakes through our sister company, Alliance Sweepstakes, which is Fiji Water. They have decided to test the waters with text-to-win in Canada for the first time. This sweepstakes is only open to legal residents of the provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan, 18 or older. This recently started on December 6 and runs till February 6.

They are also giving away a trip, this one to Fiji. The prize includes 2 round-trip tickets from Canada to Nadi, Fiji Islands, 7 nights’ hotel accommodations at a hotel that includes daily breakfast, lunch and dinner along with 2 excursions or activities in Fiji. The prize package is valued at $10,000 Canadian. Fiji Water is working with Mac’s Convenience Stores in Western Canada to promote the sweepstakes at many of their retail locations.

We’ve been working with a mobile platform in the U.S. for the past couple of years called Sweeppea. Their platform doesn’t work with the Canadian Carriers, so I had to find a new company for the Fiji Water promotion. I found this company,  MODI$club, who have been giving me great customer service on this first promotion. So hopefully we’ll do more business in Canada with them.

I’ve just received approval on another text-to-win promotion for a new client that will start January 1. They have expressed interest in doing 3 text-to-win sweepstakes in 2018. We also have an existing client that has signed up for five more text-to-win sweepstakes in 2018. So it certainly seems like 2018 we’ll see an significant increase in these types of promotions.

We have been getting more and more interest in running text-to-win sweepstakes this year. Here’s a new one that started running September 1 and will end this month. We’ve been working with Republic National Distributing Company who is the second largest alcohol beverage distributor in the U.S. They are assisting Pernod Ricard, the sponsor, who has several very popular spirit brands. Pernord Ricard is utilizing in-store POS for both their Absolut Vodka and Martell Cognac brands to get the message out about the sweepstakes.

People in the Maryland and Washington DC area are invited to text the word WIN1 (Absolut) or WIN2 (Martell) to the shortcode 65047 to be entered into the sweepstakes. One Grand Prize winner from the Win1 keyword drawing will receive two VIP tickets to a Washington Capitals’ NHL home game and a Zamboni ride and One Grand Prize winner from the Win2 keyword drawing will receive two VIP tickets to a Washington Wizards’ NBA home game and a pregame shoot experience. Both prizes total $899 in value.

Since this sweepstakes is for alcohol beverage brands we needed to make sure that entrants were 21 years of age or older. So when they text in each entrants receives a message back with a link to a very brief mobile form in which they have to enter their date of birth. Once completed they receive another message confirming their entry with a link to the official rules. Pernod Ricard is collecting mobile phone numbers and all entrants are automatically subscribed to a text messaging list in which they can receive future text messages from the sponsor. An opt-out option always needs to be included. Other marketers that we have been working with use the form to collect additional data on the entrants such as their name and email address. It depends on the marketer’s objectives and how easy they want to make it for the entrants.

The main objective of these text-to-win sweepstakes is for the brands to receive extra awareness at retail locations. Many alcohol beverage brands are now utilizing text to win and other types of sweepstakes promotions in order to gain the extra display and point of sale that promote the sweepstakes. Here is another text-to-win sweepstakes that we are running for Infinium Spirits for their Tequila Corralejo brand. This is the third and final text-to-win sweepstakes that we’ve been assisting them with this year. The other two which I wrote about were for their Seagrams Vodka brand and for their Templeton Rye Whisky brand.

The Ultimate Fiesta Sweepstakes is open to all of the U.S. and invites people to text Tequila to 65047 for a chance to win one of four $250 gift cards that they can use to host the ultimate fiesta. Point of sale materials such as case cards and neck ringers have been created to get the word out in stores. This sweepstakes also started on September 1 and runs till the end of October. With all three of their sweepstakes they have been utilizing the mobile form to collect additional data on the entrants which include their name, email and date of birth.

We’ve been partnering with the Sweeppea mobile platform on most all of our text to win sweepstakes this year. Based on some initial 2018 planning that some of our clients have shared with us I believe that we’ll be doing many more of these text-to-win sweepstakes next year.

The summer season of promotions is now in full swing. Last month I wrote this post regarding a Father’s Day promotion we were working on which was the first of several for Infinium Spirits who has many different alcohol beverage brands. That sweepstakes was for their Templeton Rye brand and now the current sweepstakes is for their Seagram’s Vodka brand.

The Ultimate Summer BBQ Sweepstakes kicked off on July 1 and runs till the end of August. Participants are invited to enter for a chance to win one of four grand prizes which are a $250 Visa Gift Card that they may use for the all the fixings to throw their own ultimate Summer BBQ.

The sweepstakes is being promoted on neck hangers on the Seagram’s bottle in store where participants are instructed to text “Seagrams” to the shortcode 6507 to be entered. They then receive a message back with a link to a brief, mobile-friendly entry form that they need to fill out and submit to receive an entry into the sweepstakes. The Seagram’s marketing team not only collects their mobile phone number but also their name and email address, and in this case, Seagram’s also collects their birth date in order to confirm they are 21 years of age or older. Some marketeers may also ask for participant’s mailing address which makes it easy to ship out prizes directly to the winners.

Text-to-win sweepstakes promotions are being used more and more this year. It’s an easy way for consumers to enter, especially when they are at an event or at a store location. When they do this you gain their mobile phone number and they are then automatically subscribed to your text messaging list (which they can opt-out at any time). Besides the ease of entry for consumers, Seagram’s Vodka also receives extra awareness at the retail locations. Many alcohol beverage brands are now utilizing text to win and other types of sweepstakes promotions in order to gain the extra display and point of sale that promote the sweepstakes.

We’ve been partnering with the Sweeppea mobile platform on several text to win sweepstakes now for the past couple of years. We have another sweepstakes scheduled for the fall for Infinium Spirits that we’ll be working with the team from Sweeppea on as well. So stay tuned and hope you have some great BBQ’s in the meantime.

Here’s a new sweepstakes targeted to poker players, or wannabe poker players. We recently started working with the team that runs the Shop. WSOP.com website. Here you can purchase all types of official licensed products of the World Series of Poker such as apparel, hats, poker chips and more.

They recently stared running the WSOP Final Table Giveaway Sweepstakes. All people need to do is join their email mailing list by filling out a few fields on their online entry form. The sweepstakes only runs till June 30 when one lucky winner will win two tickets to the final table of the World Series of Poker. The winner and their guest will have the opportunity to sit at the table when the best poker players in the world go head to head to win the Grand Prize. The Series will be featured on ESPN which is being held at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas July 20, 21 and 22! The prize package also includes $1,000 travel stipend to use for the trip to Las Vegas.

Another sweepstakes that recently launched that we’re assisting with is for a company called Huhtamaki, Inc. You may not recognize their name, but you probably would their largest consumer brand, Chinet. They are running this mobile promotion specifically for Meijer stores. Participants are invited to text the word “Movie” to the short code 65047 to be entered in the Ultimate Backyard Movie Night Sweepstakes. Once they text they will receive a text message back with a link to a mobile optimized entry form that they need to submit in order to complete their entry.

The prize package includes products to help the winners host their dream summer party. The Grand prize includes a voucher for a 65″ TV valued up to $1,399.99 good at any Meijer store. Also included is Charbroil Gas2Coal grill, 2 Lake N Trail chairs, Chinet party product supplies, 4 $100 Meijer Gift Cards and various OFF! products. Two first prize winners will also win a similar package, but not with the TV.

They are utilizing the mobile platform Sweeppea that collects the text entries and all the data from the online form. This is the same mobile platform that we utilize for all our mobile text to win sweepstakes as well.

This is the beginning of the summer promotion season. We’ll be covering more summer sweepstakes and contests here, so stay tuned.

Text-to-win sweepstakes promotions are now being utilized by more and more companies in their marketing mix. It’s an easy way for consumers to enter, especially when they are at an event or at a store location. When they do this you gain their mobile phone number and they are then automatically subscribed to your text messaging list (which they can opt-out at any time).

One of our clients that has been using this promotional method is Deschutes Brewery, a craft beer company headquartered in Oregon. Their beer is available in 29 states throughout the U.S. and in D.C. They had different text-to-win sweepstakes running for 11 months last year, and that is the plan for this year as well.

The way these sweepstakes work is that the participant texts a different keyword for each sweepstakes to the shortcode that we provide. They then receive a message back with a link to a brief, mobile-friendly entry form that they need to fill out and submit to receive an entry into the sweepstakes. So in the case, Deschutes Brewery not only collects their mobile phone number, but their name and email address, and in some cases their mailing address, which makes it easy to ship out the prizes directly to the winners.

We helped them kick off the Stanley Sweepstakes in February that will be running till the end of the year. Participants text “stanley” to the shortcode 65047 for a chance to win one of the 10 Stanley camping kits that they are giving away each month. The camping kit includes a steel growler pack and is valued at $60. Each month we draw the 10 winners for them and participants are welcome to come back and enter daily, although they can only win once.

Now this month we helped them launch the Hobo Hammock Sweepstakes that runs now till the end of August. Participants text “hammock” to 65047 for a chance to win one of 10 Hobo Hammocks each month. We will also draw the 10 winners at the end of each month for this sweepstakes and, as in the Stanley Sweepstakes, participants can enter daily.

Besides the ease of entry for consumers, Deschutes Brewery receives extra awareness at the retail and bar locations. In fact many alcohol beverage brands are now utilizing text to win and other types of sweepstakes promotions in order to gain the extra display and point of sale that promote the sweepstakes. I wrote this post last week about a couple of sweepstakes we helped Rutherford Ranch run that has gained them this extra awareness for two of their brands. We have a few spirit brands that we’re also assisting them with that will be running during the next few months.
