Here’s a new sweepstakes targeted to poker players, or wannabe poker players. We recently started working with the team that runs the Shop. WSOP.com website. Here you can purchase all types of official licensed products of the World Series of Poker such as apparel, hats, poker chips and more.

They recently stared running the WSOP Final Table Giveaway Sweepstakes. All people need to do is join their email mailing list by filling out a few fields on their online entry form. The sweepstakes only runs till June 30 when one lucky winner will win two tickets to the final table of the World Series of Poker. The winner and their guest will have the opportunity to sit at the table when the best poker players in the world go head to head to win the Grand Prize. The Series will be featured on ESPN which is being held at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas July 20, 21 and 22! The prize package also includes $1,000 travel stipend to use for the trip to Las Vegas.

Another sweepstakes that recently launched that we’re assisting with is for a company called Huhtamaki, Inc. You may not recognize their name, but you probably would their largest consumer brand, Chinet. They are running this mobile promotion specifically for Meijer stores. Participants are invited to text the word “Movie” to the short code 65047 to be entered in the Ultimate Backyard Movie Night Sweepstakes. Once they text they will receive a text message back with a link to a mobile optimized entry form that they need to submit in order to complete their entry.

The prize package includes products to help the winners host their dream summer party. The Grand prize includes a voucher for a 65″ TV valued up to $1,399.99 good at any Meijer store. Also included is Charbroil Gas2Coal grill, 2 Lake N Trail chairs, Chinet party product supplies, 4 $100 Meijer Gift Cards and various OFF! products. Two first prize winners will also win a similar package, but not with the TV.

They are utilizing the mobile platform Sweeppea that collects the text entries and all the data from the online form. This is the same mobile platform that we utilize for all our mobile text to win sweepstakes as well.

We’re all hoping that the cost of gas remains holding pretty steady for the rest of this year. But who wouldn’t want to win free gas for a year? We’re working again with the team at CITGO to assist with their Club CITGO Free Gas for a Year Sweepstakes. This promotion will be running all year with one lucky winner per quarter. They way it works is through the Club CITGO App.

Participants in 26 eastern states, plus D.C., are invited to download the app and set up a personal Club CITGO account. They will each receive a Free Gas for a Year Sweepstakes notification altering them each quarter that the sweepstakes is open for entries. Those users can obtain daily entries via the app Check-Ins. A Check- In is measured by the entrant’s mobile device being within 400ft of the tracking hardware installed at a participating CITGO location.The tracking hardware uses GPS and the entrant must have GPS/Location Services enabled. If an entrant is within the 400ft distance, they can obtain one entry by clicking the ‘Check-In’ button in the app sidebar. The sweepstakes rules do allow for an alternative means of entry by mail for those participants that may not want to use their data or have a mobile phone.

Entrants are allowed to Check-In daily for multiple chances to win. At the end of each quarterly sweepstakes period one lucky grand prize winner will receive $2,500 worth of CITGO gas cards, which should be enough for a year’s worth of driving. Besides the sweepstakes, participants can check-in every day to earn extra perks and rewards to save on in-store items such as their favorite snacks, drinks as well as gasoline.

We’ve also been working with CITGO on various text-to-win sweepstakes that invite participants to enter by just texting a keyword to gain an entry. We recently wrapped up the Win a Hockey Game Night Experience Package Sweepstakes in which participants entered for a chance to win tickets to a Chicago Blackhawks hockey game. Two winners received four 100 level seat tickets and two winners received four penthouse suite tickets. All winners also received a ride on the ice resurfacer.

So we are seeing more and more sweepstakes using mobile as a means of entry. Most lawyers will still tell you that using data to enter a sweepstakes may be construed as consideration (purchase) and you should include another method of entry without purchase. However, no claims or lawsuits have yet to be filed. So it is all according to what level of risk that your company is comfortable with. As more and more mobile providers offer unlimited data plans we’ll see if that will change anytime soon.

Chipotle Friend of FauxA new mobile-optimized game and sweepstakes from the folks at Chipotle Mexican Grill is currently running called the “Friend or Faux Sweepstakes”.  It not only provides entrants with a chance to win free Chipotle for a year, but also gives each entrant a Buy-One-Get-One (“BOGO”) coupon for a free Chipotle item value up to $10. This coupon is being delivered to the mobile number that the entrant provided when they initially registered for the Sweepstakes.

So here’s how it works. From now till August 31, people are in the contiguous 48 states, 13 years of age or older are asked to visit the Chipotle Friend or Faux website at: http://chipotle.com/friendorfaux.

Chipotle Friend or Faux GameThere they are invited to participate in the Friend or Faux comparison quiz. The quiz is an educational game that highlights the differences between Chipotle’s ingredients and those commonly used by other fast food brands. Entrants must compare and match 20 ingredients by pinpointing which item contains each ingredient.

“There’s been a lot of talk recently about fast food companies removing artificial ingredients from their food, but most of these announcements cover only a portion of the thousands of additives used in processed foods,” explained Mark Crumpacker, Chief Creative and Development Officer at Chipotle. “Through ‘Friend or Faux,’ we are giving consumers an entertaining way to contrast the collective beauty of Chipotle’s food with the complex ingredient lists that make up many fast food and packaged food items.”

After playing the game, the Entrants are then asked to provide their name and mobile phone number. They will then also have the opportunity to opt-in to receive further mobile text communications from the Sponsor.

Chipotle is also offering an online alternate method of entry for those that wish to enter without taking the comparison quiz. They have provided this additional link http://chipotlesweeps.hit2c.com/friendorfaux that takes them to a standard online entry form.

All Entrants have the opportunity to receive an additional entry into the Sweepstakes if they Tweet about the Sweepstakes via Twitter by using the hashtag #friendorfauxsweepstakes or by sharing the Sweepstakes link via Facebook. A maximum total of 2 entries per person is allowed.

At the end of the sweepstakes 50 Grand Prize winners will receive one year of “Free Burritos for You and a Friend” and 100 first prize winners with a “Catering Party for 20″. Total value of all prizes $91,000.

The mobile game including the BOGO coupon offer is being handled by a company called Vibes Media, LLC. They are also in charge of doing the random drawings for the 50 grand prize and 100 first prize winners. We are currently discussing ways to partner up with Vibes Media in order to offer our clients these types of mobile gaming options to add to our capabilities. Studies have shown that people enjoy playing games on their mobile phones, so it is a trend that we expect to see much more of in the coming year.
